Questions, answered

Is SpendSense a free budget app?

Yes. SpendSense is free while it is in early access, with no card needed to sign up.

How does SpendSense work?

Add your take-home pay, your bills and how much you want to save. SpendSense takes out your bills first, plans your savings toward a yearly goal, and shows one number: what is truly free to spend this month. That number updates as you add spending.

Does SpendSense connect to my bank account?

No. You add your numbers yourself, and SpendSense never asks for your bank login, card numbers or government ID.

Can my partner and I share one budget?

Yes. SpendSense is made for households: invite your partner to share bills, paydays and savings goals in one family budget that everyone can see.

How is SpendSense different from a budgeting spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet shows what you planned. SpendSense keeps the plan live: bills, paydays and savings are already accounted for, so you can check what you can spend right now without doing the math.

Does SpendSense help me save money?

Yes. Set a yearly savings goal and SpendSense shows every month whether you are on pace, with your savings organized in buckets: account types like a TFSA or RRSP in Canada (and US and UK equivalents), or your own funds.

Which countries and currencies does SpendSense support?

SpendSense is made in Montréal, Canada, and supports Canadian dollars, US dollars, euros, British pounds and Australian dollars. It is available in English and French.

Is there an app to download?

No download needed. SpendSense runs in your web browser on your phone, tablet or computer.

Is my financial data safe?

SpendSense shows no ads and never sells your data; your money data is used only to run your budget. You can download all your data or delete your account at any time.
